PEARLA O. SEARS

   Miss Pearla O. Sears, 73, died unexpectedly Monday morning, August 20, at 
7:15 o’clock at the residence of her sister, Mrs. A. Sidney Francis, in Boykins.

   Mrs. Sears was a daughter of the late E.G. and Mrs. Florence Griffith Sears 
and was a native of Como, N.C., but had made her residence in Boykins for the 
past 23 years. She was a member of the Boykins Baptist Church.

   In addition to her sister, she is survived by two brothers, Z.B. Sears of 
Ocean View, Norfolk and R.B. Sears of Franklin, and a number of nieces and 
nephews.

   Funeral services were conducted at the Boykins Baptist Church Wednesday 
afternoon at 3 o’clock with Rev. Ben B. Ussery, pastor, officiating, assisted by 
Rev. William S. Ferguson, pastor fo the Boykins Methodist Church.

   Interment was in the Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery at Como, N.C.  Active 
pallbearers were W.H. Walker, Jr., Owen Speight, E.B. Sears, J.L. Matthews, L.F. 
Draper, Sr., Luin Coleman, Gilbert W. Francis and Everett S. Francis. Honorary 
pallbearers were the Adult Bible Class, the Fidelis Bible Class and friends of 
the family.
