THOMAS BOGART STEPHENSON

   Thomas Bogart Stephenson, 59, died at his home near Mapleton, N.C., early 
Sunday morning, February 28, after an illness of many months.

   Mr. Stephenson was the son of the late William and Nora Bogart Stephenson. 
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. R.S. Maddrey of Sunbeam, and a number of 
nieces and nephews. He had many relatives in Eastern Carolina and Virginia.

   Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon, March 1, from the 
W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in Murfreesboro by the pastor of the 
deceased. Interment was in the family cemetery at the Stephenson home.

   The beautiful flowers and the crowd that assembled for the last rites 
attested to the esteem in which Mr. Stephenson was held.
