Master Sergeant E Frank Stephenson, 80
E.F. STEPHENSON SR. FOUNDED COMPANY

E. Frank Stephenson Sr., 80, of Route 1, died April 13, 1990, in an Ahoskie 
hopsital.

Mr. Stephenson, a native of Hertford County, was founder and chairman of the 
board of E.F. Stephenson & Son, a fertilizer company. He was a member and 
former deacon of Buckhorn Baptist Church. He was a member of Tidewater 
Knights of Pythians and a charter member and past president of Como Ruritan 
Club.

He served as a deputy for the Hertford County Sheriff's Department. He was a 
member and past master of American George Masonic Lodge 17 in Murfreesboro 
and a member of Sudan Shrine Temple in New Bern and the Roanoke-Chowan 
Shrine Club. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite mason.

Survivors include his wife, Lucye Bishop Stephenson; two daughters, 
Elizabeth S. Jenkins of Como and Mary S. Hammel of Chesapeake; a son, E. 
Frank Stephenson Jr. of Murfreesboro; two brothers, John H. Stephenson of 
Franklin and Truman Joyner of Belvidere; and five grandchildren.

The graveside service with Masonic rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday 
in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Ray Craig. Friends may join 
the family from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro. 
Memorial donations may be made to Como Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 
P.O. Box 117, Como, N.C. 27818.
