OLIE DRAPER STONE

   Mrs. Olie Draper Stone, 51, a resident of Portsmouth for the past 24 years, 
died Sunday, January 11, in King’s Daughters Hospital, after an illness of 
many months.

   Mrs. Stone, daughter of the late Thomas Draper and Mrs. Ellen Brotton 
Draper Cowan, was a native of Southampton County and a member of New Hope 
Methodist Church near Statesville. She was the wife of Cephas K. Stone of 
Portsmouth.

   Besides her husband she is survived by four sons Benjamin F., Joe Dunford, 
and William Kind Stone of Portsmouth and Stanford S. Stone, USN, now stationed 
in China; one brother, Rev. Millard F. Draper of Richmond; and five 
grandchildren.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Stone were conducted Tuesday afternoon at one 
o’clock at the W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Rev. John W. Morrison of 
Newsoms, with interment in the family cemetery near Como, N.C.  The active 
pallbearers were Bob Holland, Linwood Britton, Charles Bryant, Eddied Bryant, 
Calvin Jenkins, Lewis Holland, Pugh Holland and Leroy Kay.
