JOSEPH EDGAR WEEDE

  A funeral service for Joseph Edgar Weede, 87, of 401 W. Second Ave., Franklin, 
was held Thursday at 3 p.m. in High Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. 
Randolph Kidd.
  Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in 
charge.
  Pallbearers were Hubert Rawlings Sr., Edward Gilliam, F.F. Powell, Robert 
Vaughan, Edward Moyler Sr., Thomas C. Holland, Hal J. Lyon and W.F. Phillips.
  Weede died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a long 
illness.
  A native of Murfreesboro, N.C., he was a son of Joseph T. and Mrs. Celia 
Jackson Weede.
  He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and was the church 
organist 65 years. He was retired from Nicholson & Weede, farm supply firm, and 
was a charter member of Franklin Rotary Club.
  Surviving are a sister, Miss Pattie D. Weede and a brother Willie M. Weede, 
both of Franklin; two nephews, Jesse Weede Jr. of Franklin and Davis Weede of 
Avondale Estates, Ga.
