II, P. 2 JOHN FRANKLIN WORRELL MECHANICSVILLE - Funeral service for John Franklin Worrell, 90, a former resident of Franklin, was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. L.F. Smith. Burial was at the family cemetery near Como. He died Thursday in St. Luke's Hospital, Mechanicsville. A retired farmer, he had lived in Mechanicsville for seven months. A native of Hertford County, N.C., he was the husband of the late Lelia Sarah Carter Worrell and the son of the late William Roscoe and Nannie Jordan Worrell of Hertford County. He was a member of the Sunbeam Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Worrell Whitley of Mechanicsville; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Porter of newsoms and Mrs. Mary E. Worrell of Como, N.C.; three brothers, Wallace M. Worrell, W. Fletcher Worrell and Rufus N. Worrell of Como, N.C. Pallbearers were V. Kemper Daughtrey, G.C. Duck, Tom Perry, Woodie Faison, Charles Farmer, Harold Cook and Charles Holt.
