Spiers of Murfreesboro in the State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare the following to be my last Will and Testament. I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary A. Spiers all my property and estate of every kind and description real personal or mixed to her and her heirs forever. Item Second Should I survive my wife Mary A. Spiers then and in that event I give devise and bequeath my property and estate of every Kind to Fannie F. Hines wife of A.P. Hines and Mary E. Barrett wife of R.C. Barrett, equally to be divided between them share and share alike to them and their heirs. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 26th day of March AD 1879 I hereby appoint A.P. Hines my Executor to execute this my last Will and Testament. Spiers was proved by the oath and examination of John T. Lewter and G. T. Lasseter the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of the said Lewis T. Spiers and is admitted to the records and duly recorded.
