Record of Wills C.051.8001 Vol. A, p. 244-245 KINCHEN ROCHELL'S WILL In the name of God, Amen. Knowing from the common course of nature that all men must die, and feeling a wish to make such disposition of my estate as seemeth best to me, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, Viz: Item 1st. I give to my three daughters Mary MARTIN, Lucy ANDERSON, and Nancy ROCHELL, the sum of five shillings each, to them and theirs forever. Item 2nd: I give and bequeath to my son John ROCHELLE the piece of Land called the old place containing thirty acres, more or less, together with Negro woman ESTHER to him & his heirs forever. Item 3rd: I give to my son James ROCHELLE the land and plantation on which I now live, also one certain bed stead, with bed and clothing to him and his heirs forever. Item 4th: I leave to my son in law Perry BIEWER? One Negro boy TOM, to him and his heirs, forever. Item 5th: I give to my wife Elizabeth ROCHELL one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. My will and desire is that should either of the above named children or their representative die, before they arrive to the age of twenty one or without Lawful Issue living at the time of their death that the portion of my estate Their lase? Be equally divided among all my children without reference to those named in first item to them and their heirs forever. Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions November Term 1845 The within Las Will and Testament of Kinchen ROCHELL, dec'd. was exhibited in open court for probate at this Term and the due execution of the same proved by the oaths of William DARDEN & David PARKER, the subscribing witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded. At the same time Elizabeth ROCHELL widow of the said Kinchen ROCHELLE, dec'd. appeared in open Court and discented from the Will of her said husband Kinchen ROCHELL & prayed that the same be entered of Record, which is accordingly so done. Administration with the Will annexed in the Estate of Kinchen ROCHELL, dec'd. was granted to Elizabeth ROCHELL who entered into bond for the sum of one Thousand dollars with David PARKER and William DARDEN securities thereto and was duly Qualified as Such and prayed & obtain an Order for Letters of Administration thereon.
