MONROE CEMETERY (GADDY'S MOUNTAIN) Little River Township, Hoke Co., NC This cemetery is located in a small cleared area surrounded my woods, on a hilltop above Deep Creek. It is approximately 200 feet south of Longstreet Road and 200 feet west of Deep Creek. There are eight marked graves (six illegible), the earliest being that of Charles M. Monroe (1812-1866), who was the owner of the farm where the Civil War Battle of Monroe’s Crossroads was fought on 10 March 1865. • Monroe Charles M. Died June 8, 1866 in the 54th year of his age • Monroe Sarah Ann Consort of I. D.
