He was badly powder-burned which caused him to suffer greatly. He was almost 85 years old when he passed away 23 years ago. She leaves 4 sons, 1 daughter and 3 daughters-in-law to mourn her loss. One unmarried son, whose pleasure it was to care for her in her last days, lost his arm in the World War. The past 23 years she has spent in pain. There are 28 grandchildren, ten of which have gone before her. All died in infancy except one which passed away three years ago. She had 11 great-grandchildren. She loved flowers better than anyone I ever knew except my mother. It was God’s will to take her to Himself out of her suffering. [Written by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. James M.
