                             YOUNG, Bertie Mae

COLUMBIA, N.C. - Bertie Mae YOUNG, 84, of Route 1, died Feb. 22, 1994. A
funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Faithful Hannah Baptist Church.
Rowsom Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge. (Virginian-Pilot - February

                         YOUNG, SR., Walter Luther

NORFOLK - Walter Luther YOUNG, SR., 76, of Rose Valley Road, a retired
dairyman and farmer, died July 9, 1992, in a Norfolk hospital. Mr. Young
was born in Hyde County, N.C. He was a member of High Street United
Methodist Church; Knights of Pythias; Dairy Herd Improvement Association;
American Guernsey Cattle Club; Ducks Unlimited; Delaware Hunt Club;
Franklin Moose Lodge; and Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife,
Maude Griffin Young; a daughter, Annie Lee Duff of Suffolk; a son, Walter
L. Young Jr. of Courtland; a sister, Janie Lee Green of Virginia Beach; two
brothers, R.L. Young Jr. of Suffolk and Beale Young of Smithfield; 7
grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev.
David Erickson and the Rev. Reginald Warren. Friends may join the family at
25296 Delaware Road, Courtland. Wright Funeral Home is handling
arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the church or to the
