Deed of Sale from Jacob DARDEN of Hyde Co., NC to Caleb HOOTEN of Beaufort 
Co., NC
30 Sept. 1795

Know all men by these presents that I Jacob DARDEN of Hyde County in State 
of No. Carolina for & in consideration of the sum of One hundred pounds 
Specia to me in hand paid have given & granted bargained & sold unto Caleb 
HOOTEN a negro boy by the name of FRANK which said negro boy, I warrant & 
defend from the lawful claim of all persons that shall or may come claiming 
by from or under me my heirs or assigns or the claims of all other persons 
whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereto set my and & seal 
This 30th day  of Sept. 1795
