CAROLINA, HYDE COUNTY In the Name of God, Amen, Thomas MASON being very weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to Almighty God, and calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my Last Will & Testament first & principally of all, I give & recomend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recomend to the earth to be burried in a decent Christian burial at the discresion of my Executors & as touching such worldly estate that it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with in this life I demise & dispose of the same in following manner & form. Item-- I give and bequeath unto my two sons Benjamin & Stephen MASON one feather bed & furniture apiece. Item-- I give and bequeath unto my wife Sarah MASON one cow & yearling. -- My will and desire is that all the remainder part or residue of my property should be sold at publick sale and after my debts and legacies are paid, to be equally divided between my six children, that is to say, Britanna, Thomas, Ellender, Susanna, Benjamin & Stephen MASON. And Lastly of all I do by these presents constitute ordain & appoint my trusty friend Johnathan Harris my Executor to this my Last Will & Testament revoking & disanulling all other former Wills & Testaments by me made & done in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 8th Day of January 1811.
