Shook from photo copy received from the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, North Carolina State Archives) Iredell County N.Carolina April 1832 A list of property belonging to the Estate of Abraham Shook (Dec) Land One hundred Acres River land — ninety six acres Ridge land being a remainder of a tract of land conveyed by George Gready to said Shook Farming utensils On wagon and gears – One Dugon plow – Three shove plows – five hoes – two Mattocks – three axes – one log chain – one Cross cut saw – one hand saw – three augers - one foot edge – one Cutting bowl & knife – one windmill – one still and vessels – one iron wedge – one frow – two old canoes – one half bushel measure – one tin gallon measure – one tin half gallon measure – one steelyard —— House Furniture Four beds and bed furniture – one clock – one watch – one looking glass – one cherry table – one pine chest – five bottles – two jugs – two small trundles – six chairs – two spinning wheels – one reel – one set fire dogs – Kitchen furniture Four pots – two ovens – one skillet – on frying pan – one iron pot rack – one kitchen table – two sets knives and forks – one tea pot – one coffee pot – one wash tub – three pails – one bake tray – one fire shovel and tongs – one pothooks – one churn – one coffee mill – one loom and tacklings – Live Stock Four horse creatures – Five head cow creatures – Seven head sheep – four head hogs — Eleven bee hives – and also three cow hides —— Crop Fifty five bushells (sic) corn – one stack of blades - Five bushells (sic) Wheat and supposed to be about four bushell (sic) of more wheat not threshed. Some flax not broken – Gross wt?g 8 lbs tobacco – a small quantity of cotton- Money and notes All the money was Silver coin, in three purses – My father some few days before his death mentioned to me in the presence of my mother and sister that nothing about his money was mentioned in his written Will- therefore he willed the disposal of his money in the following manner – One purse which contained his small change he give to my mother – one purse containing one hundred dollars he gives to my youngest brother Robert and directed me to put Roberts money out on interest until he becomes of age – One purse containing Eighty nine dollars he directed me, out of that money, in the first place to pay his debts – the balance if any to be divided equally among his family. – One note on John Bitsel for sixteen dollars – one note on Benjimen (sic) Henline for two dollars and fifty cents – Both of those two persons have left this part of the country and are considered insolvent. – The forgoing is a true statement to the best of my knowledge Riley A.
