11.  Mary McConnell’s pension application and the announcement of Elizabeth 
(Leasey) Dickey’s death

[25 Dec 1845]
						Washington City,
						Dec 25, 1845
Sir.
	I enclose you an application for a pension for Mrs. Mary McConnell of 
Iredell Co. NC.
	I am requested by W. F. Cowan her said agent to inquire for the 
certificate in behalf of Mrs. Mary McKee who was notified that she could  a 
pension allowed for nine months service of her husband.  She is very infirm 
and in great need of what may be due her under the pension laws.
	Mrs. Dickey an applicant from the same County of Iredell is dead.  Mr 
Cowan wishes to know through me, whether as she has died pending her 
application any further proceeding can be had in this matters.
