C. Nov. 24, 1882 OBITUARY of JAMES E. ADAMS Died at his residence on the South Yadkin river in this county on the 8th Inst., JAMES E. ADAMS, aged 65 years. He had been a highly useful member of the Presbyterian Church nearly fifty years, having joined the Church of Concord about the year 1833 and removed his membership to Fifth Creek in 1854. He left a widow and three children who have families of their own to mourn for him. He suffered long with a lingering disease, but with patience submitted to the Divine will and finally died in a happy frame of mind. He sleeps in the Lord. His removal makes a great vacancy in the family, in the Church and in the community. A very large concourse of people attended his funeral at Fifth Creek Church.
