MARGARET ANNIE BEATTY

   Mrs. Margaret Annie Beatty, 75, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. 
Edward T. Drummond, in Boykins of Friday evening, June 14. Mrs. Beatty was a 
native of Iredell County, N.C., but had made her home in Boykins for many years.

   She was the widow of William Franklin Beatty and a daughter of the late Josh 
Miller and Mrs. Mary Sherrill Miller. She was a member of the Zion Baptist 
Church at Skippers.

   Surviving are five sons, Allen Beatty of Yorktown, Eugene Beatty of Emporia, 
Clarence Beatty of Warwick, and Ernest and McNair Beatty of Hampton; three 
daughters, Mrs. Harry Williams and Mrs. Bessie Rodgerter, both of Emporia, and 
Mrs. Edward T. Drummond of Boykins; one sister, Mrs. R.M. Moore, Sr., of 
Clinton, N.C.; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces 
and nephews.

   Funeral services were held at the Echols Funeral Home at Emporia at 2:30 p.m. 
Sunday with burial in the Emporia Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were James L. Mitchell, T.L. Hux, S.H. Harrell, C.L. Rodgerter, 
W.T. Morgan and Horace Clary.
