She was born July 8, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana, daughter of the late James Skinner and Flora Lynch Skinner. She was employed with a children’s daycare and was a member of Connection Church in Statesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Skinner and George Skinner. She is survived by a son, Paul Elgin of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Cristene Baker and Charity Kluttz, both of Statesville; three brothers, Jimmy Skinner of Statesville and Tommy Skinner and Bobby Skinner, both of Florida; two sisters, Sonja Maffucci of Statesville and Shirley Vintin of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was conducted Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Connection Church with Rev. Michael Maffucci officiating. Condolences may be e-mailed to the Elgin Family at www.chapmanfuneralhome.com.
