NOLA JOYCE GREER MASTERS
STATESVILLE - Nola Joyce Greer Masters, 98, formerly of Mitchell County, 
died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. She was 
the daughter of the late Jones Caldwell Greer and Lilly Alice Greer Greer, 
and wife of the late Henry Moses Masters. She was also preceded in death 
by a daughter, Madge Schoner; four sisters; and four brothers. She was a 
former school teacher and active member of Snow Creek United Methodist 
Church of Statesville.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Eugene Masters of Greensboro, Jones 
Masters and William Masters, both of Statesville; and Kenneth Masters of 
Marathon, FL; four daughters, Mary Jane Archer of Titusville, FL, Alma 
Kallam of Greensboro, Grace Breese of Statesville, and Clara Peterson of 
Burnsville; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and one great great 
grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Snow Creek United Methodist 
Church. Revs. Joe Conley and Bob Harris officiated. Burial followed in the 
church cemetery. The family received friends in the church fellowship hall 
following the service.
