Statesville Landmark: Col. Wm. N. Ramsey, after a protracted sickness, died 
Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home just northeast of town, in the 71st 
year of his age. He was a native of the county and one of its best known 
citizens. Col. Ramsey married a sister of Col. A.M. Walker of this place and 
Mr. Wm. Walker of this vicinity, and raised a considerable family, four or 
more of whom survive him. He was a man of great geniality of manner, of many 
excellent qualities, and left many friends. The funeral services were 
conducted by Rev. D.G. Caldwell and the interment was at Oakwood
