The Landmark
From The Landmark of Stateville, N. C. Nov. 24, 1882
 
E. F. SHARPE, ESQ., died at his residence on Snow Creek in this county on 
Wednesday 18th Inst. in the 82nd year of his age. He was a large and 
successful farmer, and was distinguished for his energy, his charity and his 
excellent common sense. He was the oldest and last of a large and influential 
family, of which the late Hon. L. Q Sharpe was the youngest, and Mrs. Rebecca 
Tomlin, mother of A. C. Tomlin, Esq. was the only daughter. They were the 
children of Major Amos Sharpe. The venerable deceased was the father of Col. 
S. A. Sharpe of Statesville.
