L. Creek, all my household and Kitchen _____ Except such as I hereafter willed to my son Abner, all my stock of Horses cattle sheep and hogs, or much of the same, she sees fit to keep, one Buggy + Horse one Wagon + Team, all of my farming tools, or as she chooses to keep all my crop + provision that I have at the time of my death, or as much or as much as she’s fit to keep. And whatever property she does not wish to keep, I Will the same to my son Abner K Murchison. And at the death of my wife Barbara C. I will all the property above Willed to her, to my son Abner K Murchison to him + his heirs forever. 2nd I Will to my son Abner K Murchison my interest in the John Barringer Tract, One Bed + furniture one book case and all of my books, one stand of drawers, Six chairs One compass and chain + Surveying implements to (two sic) watches two guns one repater (repeater, sic), one Share in the W. W. Cowhide Rail Road, all the money, all the money that may be in house all my notes + accounts that may be due me at the time of my death, one Sulky + Harness, one set of hand Smith tools, My trunk all of my wearing apparel all my stock of medicines that I may have at the time of my death, together with all the jugs + curats with same My saddle bags, all of my saddles and my other property that I may be in possession of the time of my death. If is my will + desire that ____ _____ that my wife shall be as well provided for as long as she shall live as much so as circumstances will allow of, for she will desires the same. I appoint my son Abner K Murchison Executor of this my Last Will + Testament. Given under my hand + seal this Sept 22nd 1865 Test J. A. Murchison {Seal} C. A. Carlton J. A. Rosbro Probate of The Last Will + Testament of J A Murchison H Evans Admr. With Will annexed #966 North Carolina } In the Superior Court Iredell County } Before the Judge of Probate A K Murchison appears before me C L Summers clerk of the Superior Court + Judge of Probate for Iredell County and offers for Probate A paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and testament of J. A. Murchison in which the said A K Murchison the __________ is named as Executor Whereupon it is proven by the oath of C A Carlton one of the Subscribing witnesses thereunto, that J A Murchison subscribed His name to said paper and declared the same to be his last Will + Testament in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness thereunto J A Rosbro, who witnessed the said paper + signed His name thereunto, that he and the said J A Rosebro both witnessed said paper writing in the presence of said J A Murchison and that said J A Rosebro is now dead. It is further proven by the oath of W H Morrison that he is well acquainted with the hand writing of J A Rosebro who is now dead from having often seen his handwriting – and that the name of J A Rosebro which appears as a subscribing witness to same paper the same of C A Carlton is the proper and Genuine signature of the said J A Rosebro as was made by him. ________ Sworn + Subscribed } before me this 15 day of } C A Carlton {Seal} January 1873 } W H Morrison {Seal} C L Summers CSC } + Judge of Probate Upon the foregoing affidavit of C A Carlton and W H Morrison the subscribing witnesses to the signatures of J A Murchisons the testator + to the signature of J A Rosebro who is now dead + who is a subscribing witness to the forgoing Last will + Testament It is adjudged by the Court this the Last will + Testament Of J A Murchison is duly forever and Admitted to probate + the same is recorded + filed this 13 January 1873.
