I John Watts about to start a Journey and death always near fallen man do
think proper to commit the dispersal of my property to writing in the
following manner as my Last will after paying all my just debts, I will my
property personal and real to my friend Robert Simonton present Sheriff of
Iredell Countyon the following conditions that is that he  will make use of
every legal chance and industry to recover a tract of land purchased by me
lying in the State of Tennessee on the waters of Duck River unjustly and I
think illegally seized on by my brothers and sisters and in their possession
at this time, the papers in hand of Felix Grundy of that state which he will
apply for and from him get necessary information likewise conducting the Suit
against John White and others. I will that the said Simonton do pay the
expenses of all these Suits out of my personal and undisputed property and
when recovered convert the whole to his own use excepting the use of a house
and Lot in the town of Jefferson in the County of Ashe for the term of two
years which I bequeath to Richard Maguire which he does now live on for the
aforesaid time in confirmation of this my Last will
