dec’d.

Johnston County
To the Worshipful the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions we the undersigned good 
and lawful men of the said county having been summoned and duly sworn to lay off 
allot unto Elizabeth RAPER her dower in the lands the husband John RAPER died 
seized and possessed of-Proceeded on the 8th of October 1845 to do the same do 
make this following Report, Viz:
Beginning for the Dower at a Stake in Asa WARDS line and North 165 poles to a 
stake in Samuel BARNES line and the West side of the Bee pond then with his line 
East 56 poles to a stake said BARNES corner then with his line South 40 poles to 
a stake near the path then with his line East 70 poles to a stake then South to a 
large Black gum on the run of Buffaloe Swamp then down the Swamp to the mouth of 
a Bee? branch then up the said Branch about North 40 poles to a stake Asa WARDS 
corner then with his line to the beginning containing one hundred and thirty 
acres Including the Dwelling house and all the other houses & put her in 
possession of the same all of which is respectfully subscribed submitted under 
our hands and seals this day and year & date above written.
