State of North Carolina } Nov. Term, 1808
Johnston County         } Petition for division of Lands

Willis Watson Esq. vs. The Heirs of John Smith, Dec'd

It appearing to this Court that Gideon Smith, William Smith and James Smith, 
three of the Defendants in said suit are inhabitants of the state of 
Tennessee. It is therefore ordered that publication be made in the Star of 
Raleigh for the space of six weeks, successively, that the said Defendants 
appear at the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions to be held for the county of 
Johnston on the fourth Monday of February next and shew cause, if any they 
have, wherefore the prayer of the aforesaid petition shall not be granted.
