Johnston County, NC - David Turner - Act For Relief, 1813 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act for the relief of David Turner of Johnson (sic) county Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passing of this act a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the south side of Neuse River in the county of Johnston and conatining two hundred acres more or less to which David Turner claims title by deed, bearing date the twenty-first day of November, A.D. 1812, from one John Stephens Sheriff of said county who sold the said land to the said David Turner as the property of John Killingsworth by virtue of a writ of freri facias issued from the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of said county against the goods and chattels, lands and tenements of said Killingsworth, shall be and is hereby declared to be fully and entirely exonerated, discharged from all and every lien or liens thereon created by any recognizance or obligation made or entered into, or forfeiture incurred by, or judgment obtained against the said John Killingsworth in the name, or behalf, or to the use of this State.
