State Archives microfilm, Johnston County, deeds book B6, page 201.// //Contributor's notes: This tract of land was the subject of several subsequent deeds of mortgage which contained a key difference in the land description. Whereas this document described the tract as running "nearly north with the Halifax road", a later deed used the phrase "nearly north to the Halifax road". Also, the rock at "J. K. Howell's corner" is described in later deeds as the rock at "J. H. A. Cook's corner". Nancy Cook was the wife of Andrew Jackson (A. J.) Cook. This deed was executed in 1890 but was not registered until Jan. of 1892 when Nancy's estate was being settled.// ______________________________________________________________________________ USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
