J. and Nancy Cook to Allie Cook Gift Deed State of North Carolina Johnston County This indenture made and entered into this 6th day of May 1884 Between A. J. Cook and wife Nancy Cook of the first part and their daughter Allie Cook of the second part all of the State of N.C. and county of Johnston, Witnesseth that the said A. J. Cook and wife Nancy Cook for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which we have unto our Daughter Allie Cook has given granted aliened and confirmed and by these presents do give unto our daughter Allie Cook her heirs and assigns after each & both of our deaths a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the State of N.C. and county of Johnston and bounded as follows: beginning at a large sweet gum at the Run of the Mill Branch thence down the meanders of said branch to whare it empties into Neuse River thence down Neuse River to the mouth of the Spring Branch thence up the said Spring Branch to a small pine North 34 1/2 W 108 poles to the Beginning containing 50 acres more or less to have and to hold after each and both our Deaths and all the appurtenances thare- unto belonging to the said Allie Cook her heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and we the said A. J. Cook and wife Nancy Cook do forever warrant and defend the Rites and title to the said Allie Cook her heirs & assigns in fee simple against all other claims Whatever. In testimony whareof we do set our hands and seals day and date above written in presents of (signed) A. J. Cook and Nancy Cook his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of Gift, and the said Nancy Cook being by me privately examined seporate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
