All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Guy Potts http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004214 July 16, 2013, 11:11 pm Written: September 22, 1766 Benjamin Crafford to Francis Cogdell No Carolina Johnston County To all to whome these presents shall come Benjamin Crafford of the province and county afore sd planter send Greeting know ye that I the sd Benajmin Crafford do for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds proc money to me in hand paid by Francis Cogdell the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my self to have been fully contented satisfied paid have granted bargained eliened enfeoffs and by these presents do fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell elien enfeof convey assign and set over unto the sd Francis Cogdell his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and twenty acres of land more or less being part of a patent granted to James Conner the tenth day of October Anno Don 1755 and in XXIX year of the reign of our late Soveriegn Lord King George the Second and conveyed from the said Benjamin Crafford separate to the said deed may more fully appear situate in Johnston County afores'd on the No side of Little River being part of the land contained in the said patant being butted and bound as follows beginning at a white oak on the river in the county line and up the sd river to Rayfords line to a white oak on the river bank thence No 160 pole to a pine thence Et to a pine in the county line so down the said county line to the first station together with all the woods buildings improvements and appurtenances there unto belonging to have and to hold the aforesaid or messuage of land with the appurtenances and every part thereof unto the sd Francis Cogdell his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the sd Francis Cogdell and of his heirs and assigns forever and the sd Benjamin Crafford and my heirs and assigns the sd mentioned and granted premises with the appurtenances unto the sd Francis Cogdell his heirs and assigns the sd Francis Cogdell yielding and paying to his majestys heirs and successors the quitrents of four shill proc money per hundred from the date of these presents and I the sd Benjamin Crafford against my heirs and assigns and every other person or persons will warrant and forever defend the above mentioned premises by these presents In Witness whereof I the sd Benj Crafford have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 22nd day of September Anno Dom 1766 Benja Crafford {Seal} Sign'd seal'd and deliv'd in presence of Will'm Rayford, Philip Rayford and Lazarus Rayford Oct Term 1767 Additional Comments: Source: Johnston County Courthouse Register of Deeds "Record" Book E-1 1764 p 260-261 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/johnston/deeds/crafford740gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 3.1 Kb
