Oliver Deed State of North Carolina, Johnston County This Deed made this 7th day of Oct. 1891 by W. E. Earp and Allie Earp his wife of Johnston County and State of North Carolina of the first part to W. B. Oliver of Johnston County and State of North Carolina of the second part, Witnesseth: That said W. E. Earp and wife Allie Earp in consideration of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to them paid by W. B. Oliver, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain sell and convey to the said W. B. Oliver and his heirs, a certain tract or parcel of land in Johnston County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of W. B. Oliver, M. C. Richardson and thus bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at the mouth of the Spring Branch running up Spring Branch to a Pine in W. B. Olivers line thus west W. B. Olivers line to a Gum in Mill Branch thus down Mill Branch to Neuse River thus down Neuse River to the Richardsons corner fifty acres more or less. To Have and to Hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenences thereto belonging to the said W. B. Oliver heirs and assigns to his only use and behalf forever. And the said W. E. Earp & wife Allie covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. Earp and Allie Earp his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the within Deed of Conveyance and the said Allie Earp being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of the said husband or any other person and she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Cook and John H. A. Cook. In 1884 Allie, who was then unmarried, acquired ownership of this land via a Deed of Gift from A. J. and Nancy Cook who reserved for themselves a life estate interest in the property. The life estates ended upon the death of Nancy Cook in 1891 and Allie, then married to William E. Earp, sold the property to W. B.
