This indenture made this sixteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand 
seven hundred and seventy four between Solomon Hinton of the County of Johnston in 
the province of North Carolina of the one part and William Hinton of the County & 
Province aforesaid of the other part winesseth that the said Solomon Hinton hath for 
and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pound proc money to him in hand paid 
by the said William Hinton hath given granted bargained & sold & confirmed and by 
these presents doth absolutely give grant bargain & sell alien (_______) & confirm 
unto the said William Hinton his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel 
of land situate lying on the north side of Neuse River in the county and Province 
aforesaid containing by estimation two hundred & fifty acres more or less and counted 
as follows:  beginning at the mouth of the Mill Creek thence the various courses of 
the Mill Creek to the back line then down said line to the Coalkiln branch then down 
the said branch to Neuse River then up the said River to the first Station it being 
part of a Tract of Land ganted to Hardy Hinton by a deed from the Honourable Earl 
Granvilles Office for four hundred sixty five acres of land the fourteenth day of 
January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Sixty one with all and 
singular the rights members (_______) profits & priveleges belonging to the said 
Land or in anywise appurtaining thereunto to have and to hold the said tract or 
parcel of land on all and singular other the premises unto him the said William 
Hinton his heirs & assigns forever in as full (________) clear and ample a manner 
to all intents & purposes as the said Solomon Hinton ever did assign or could have 
held the same before the making of this deed and the said Solomon Hinton hereby 
(_________) & obliges himself his heirs executors and administrators to warrant and
forever defend the said land & premises unto the said William Hinton he heirs 
executors administrators & assigns forever against him the said Solomon Hinton his 
heirs and assigns and all other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming under 
him or any of.  In witness whereof the said Solomon Hinton hath hereunto set his 
hand and affixed his seal the day & year first above written.
