Johnston County, NC - Land & Deed Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carol Norville Berning Solomon Hinton Grant Johnston County, NC November Term 1779 Transcribed by Carol Norville Berning berningc@worldnet.att.net State of North Carolina To all To Whom these presents Shall Come Greeting Know ye that we for and consideration of the sum of Fifty Shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid unto our Treasury by Solomon Hinton have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the sd Solomon Hinton a Tract of Land containing one Hundred and fifty Acres-lying and being in our County of Johnston on the North Side of Nuce River Beginning at a burch on the River his own upper corner and runs thence along his own line North thirteen digrees east one hundred and thirty pole to a stake his other corner thence along his other line est one hundred thirty pole (_______________) South eighty eight pole to a stake in te center of Two read oaks near Hintons Creek thence west fortyeight pole to a red oak Isaac Hintons corner thence along his line south thirty digrees west one hundred and forty ole to a red oak his other corner on the River thence up the mainders thereof to the beginning. As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods & land belonging or appertaining. To hold to the said William Hinton his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct proved allways that the said William Hinton shall cause his grant to be registered in the Registers Office of our said County of Johnston within Twelve months from the Date hereof otherwise the same shall be voyd and of no effect. In testimony whereof we have caused our Great seal to be hereunto affixed witness Richard Caswell Esquire our Govnor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Kingston the Twelfth Day of December in the third year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy nine.
