20 Oct 1763

This Indenture made the 20th day of Oct. 1763, Between William Cloud of Craven 
County & Province of So. Carolina & William Reeves of the County of Orange & 
Province of No. Carolina of the other part.  Witnesseth that for & in 
consideration of 70 pounds Virginia money to him in hand paid, before sealing 
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof etc said Cloud Doth hereby 
acknowledge & of every part & parcel thereof Doth freely and absolutely acquit 
& discharge, & hath given granted etc & by these presents Doth give, grant etc 
a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation 300 acres more or 
less lying & being on New light Creek thence along Walls line So to New light 
Creek thence down the said creek as it meanders to the mouth of a small branch 
on the so. side of the same to a white oak and two dog-woods, thence at the 
said branch to Mallets line thence down said line W to the corner line, thence 
No. 300 poles to a white oak thence E. 340 po. to an oak the first station 
unto the said Wm. Reeves his heirs etc forever To have & to hold possess & 
peaceably enjoy the said 300 acres of land with all houses orchards, etc & all 
the rights & privileges to the parcel belonging from him the said Cloud his 
heirs etc. & the said Cloud Doth by these presents warrant & forever Defend 
the same From the lawful claims of all manner of persons whatsoever.
