Johnston County, NC - Abram COLSTON to William ROCHELL, 1765 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abraham COLSTON to William ROCHELL Johnston Co., N.C. 1765 This Indenture made this sixth day of July in the second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain, France & Ireland. King Defender of the faith & in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & sixty five between Abram COLSTON of Johnston County & province of N. Carolina of the one part & William ROCHELL of the sd. Cty. & province of the other part Witnesseth that he the sd. COLSTON for & in consideration of the sum of Eighty pounds Current money of Virginia to them in hand pd at or before the ensealing & delivering of these presents by him the sd. ROCHELL the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge have & granted, bargained & sold alien & ensue? Release & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain & sell alien ensue? Release & confirm unto the sd. ROCHELL with the plantation on it to the sd. ROCHELLE to have & to hold possess peaceably with all houses lives orchards gardens waterways & meadows growns with all the rights priveledges his heirs & assigns for ever one tract or parcel of land lying & being in the sd Cty. Of Johnston one hundred acres be it more or less & bounded as followeth (towit) beginning at a beach on the N side of Nuce River on the upper side of the Mouth of the sd. Branch thence turning at Northwest Course to the backlin then along the sd. Line S cors to three pins to a Corner thence a E course down to the sd. Riffer which the sd. Land was to him the sd. COLSTON by deed indented from this right honr John Earl Granville & bearing date the fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & sixty & all the revertion & revertions remainder & remainders rights issue profits & ---------- thereof & also all the right title claim & demand whatsoever of him the sd. COLSTON at in & to the sd. Premises & of in & to every part & parcel of land & premises with the appurtenances unto the sd. ROCHELL his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the sd. ROCHELL his heirs & assigns forever & the sd. COLSTON for himself his heirs execr. & admr. do covenant & grant by these presents to & with the sd. ROCHELL his heirs & assigns forever that he the sd. COLSTON & his heirs the first mentioned tract or parcel of land & premises & every part thereof against him & his heirs & against all & every other person & persons & all claims charges & incumbrances whatsoever to this sd. ROCHELL his heirs & assigns, shall & will warrant & forever defend in Witness whereof he the sd. COLSTON hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year afsd. Written.
