Johnston County, NC - Wm. N. Rose to John W. Rose, 1875 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Johnston County Deed Book H-3, pg 519 - 150 acres This indenture made this the twenty eight day of March in the year eighteen hundred and seventy one, between Wm. N. Rose Jr. of the County of Johnston and State of North Carolina of the first part, and John W. Rose of the County of Johnston and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars ($450) the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and does hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land lying in the County and State aforesaid, bounded as follows, Viz: beginning at a black gum on the run of Mill Creek, S.W. Blackmon's corner, thence S 3 degrees W 88 poles to a black jack in a hedgerow, thence due E 280 poles to an ash on the run of Mill Creek, thence down the run as it meanders to the beginning, containing one hundred and fifty acres, more or less To have and to hold the same with the appurtenances thereunto belonging: except such timbers, after enough to make and repair buildings, as are suitable for saw timbers, to John W. Rose of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever And the said party of the first part for the consideration aforesaid, does hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend the premises aforesaid to the said party of the second part, his executors, administrators and assigns against the claim and entry of all persons whatsoever. And he does further covenant that the said William N. Rose Jr. is seized of the premises in fee simple and has power to make and convey such and estate by this indenture, and has done the same by these presents In witness whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and year above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of: John E.
