Johnston County, NC - James Woodall Sr. to Benjamin Rose, 1815 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Johnston County Deed Book H #2, pg 304 - 9 acres This indenture made the 15th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen between James Woodall Senior of the State of North Carolina, and County of Johnston of the one part, planter, and Benjamin Rose of the same State and County aforesaid, of the other part, witnesseth: that the said James Woodall for and in consideration of the sum of nine dollars to him in hand paid at and before the signing and sealing of these presents, the receipt and payment hereof is hereby scknowledged, that I am therewith fully satisfied, contented and paid, have given, granted, bargained and sold unto him the said Benjamin Rose his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece, or parcel of land lying, situate and being in the aforesaid county on the north side of Hannahs Creek, beginning at a stake the beginning of a tract of land granted to the said James Woodall for 615 and runs said line N 36 poles to a post oak in the line of said patent, then with said line E 40 poles to the beginning, containing nine acres being part of the same grant To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with all and singular the privileges, profits, benefits and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Benjamin Rose, his heirs and assigns forever, and I, the said James Woodall doth for myself, my heirs, Excutors and Administrators, covenant and agree to warrant and forever defend the said land and premises free and clear from or against the lawful claims of any manner of persons whatsoever unto him, the said Benjamin Rose, his heirs and assigns forever.
