Johnston County, NC – B.B. Rose, Admr. of A.H. Rose Estate, 1866 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This indenture made on the 13th day of November AD one thousand eight hundred and sixty six, between B.B. Rose, Admr of estate of A.H. Rose, of Johnston County and State of North Carolina on the one part, and William N. Rose, Jr. of the County and State aforesaid on the other part witnesseth that whereas at August Term 1864 it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Session, the personal estate of A.H. Rose was insufficient to pay his debts, therefore ordered by the said court that B.B. Rose, Admr proceed to sell the lands after giving due notices and satisfy said debts, and whereas the said B.B. Rose according to order of court did proceed on the 13th day of November to see the said lands after having duly advertised the same according to law, whereupon, Wm N. Rose Jr. became the purchaser at the sum of four hundred dollars: now therefore this indenture witnesseth, that B.B. Rose aforesaid for and in consideration of the said sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Wm N. Rose Jr. the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth bargain, sell, aliened, conveyed, and confirmed unto him the said Wm N. Rose Jr. his heirs and assigns forever all the right, title, claim, interest and demand of him the said B.B. Rose Admr in the lands aforesaid lying and being in the said county of Johnston, and bounded as follows; beginning at a black gum in the main run of Mill Creek Wm N. Rose corner and runs his line No 11 W, 88 poles to a stake formerly a post oak thence his other line North 55 W 58 poles to a pine, thence N 122 poles to a pine on the No side of the Mill branch thence up the said Mill branch as it meanders to a small juniper Ira’s corner in the mill branch thence due east 116 poles to a stake in the Heron line in a small branch thence down the branch as it meanders 66 poles to the mill ditch thence down the mill ditch as it meanders 117 poles to a stake on the main run of Mill Creek thence up said creek as it meanders to the beginning containing one hundred and forty six acres more or less to have and to hold the same with appertenances thereto belonging to Wm N.
