Johnston County, NC - John Wood to Nicholas Rose, 1826 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Johnston County Deed Book N-2, pg 222 Know all men by these Presents that I John Wood of the county of Johnston & State of North Carolina for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred & fifty dollars good & lawful money of the said state have bargained sold & delivered unto Nicholas Rose of the county & state aforesaid one Negro girl slave named Hannah aged about fourteen years; which said Negro girl slave Hannah I the said John Wood do hereby bind myself my heirs executors & adm'rs to warrant secure & forever defend her & her increase to the said Nicholas Rose his heirs & assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 28th day of March 1826 Signed Seald & Delivered } John (his x mark) Wood {Seal} in the Presents of } B.
