K2, p. 195-196 Arthur TALTON to John SPENCER both of Johnston County, NC 7 Nov. 1816 This Indenture made the 7th day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and sixteen Between, Arthur TALTON of the County of Johnston & State of North Carolina of the one part and John SPENCER of the same County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth That for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred & Seven Dollars & fifty cents to me in hand paid or Secured by the said John SPENCER before the unsealing & deliverance of these presents the receipt hereof I bind myself my heirs Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever y these presents, have granted, Bargained & Sold unto the said John SPENCER a certain tract or tenement of land situated lying & being in the County of Johnston & State aforesaid do on the South side of Little River and on the North side of Little Creek. Beginning at a Post Oak & runs thence East 126 poles and 1/2 to a Stake thence North 127 poles to a Stake thence West 126 poles & !/2 to a Post Oak near Little Creek thence down the Creek South 127 poles to the Beginning Containing by estimation One Hundred Acres be the same more or less Together with all Mines minerals Hereditaments thereunto belonging or otherwise Appertaining and I the said Arthur TALTON do for myself my Heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns Warrant and forever defend all the above Granted premises granted the said John SPENCER & his Heirs forever.
