Indenture made 21 Aug 1868 between Tyrus & Penelope Thornton to B. B. Rose all of 
Johnston, for $228 land in Johnston beginning at a black gum stump on the south 
side of Mill Creek and adjacent to B. B. Roses line, W. F. Jernigans corner and 
line, Easons corner and Thorntons containing 57 acres. Witnesses: William J. 
Jernigan and Thomas Ward. Registered: April 12, 1869.
