Tomlinson being duly sworn says that he was a soldier in the Confederate Army - that he was a member of Freemans Battalion - that the said Battalion was composed of men from North Carolina and from Alabama - that those from Alabama out numbered those from North Carolina and therefore the Battalion was accredited to Alabama and the numbers from North Carolina are not put in Moore's Roster of Troops - that the affiant knew several of the men in the Battalion - that J.W. Langston was one of these and made a good soldier - that said Langston affiant understands has since then moved to Wayne County, NC where he now resides.
