Johnston County, NC - Reuben Wilkerson Revolutionary War Pension [There is a Reuben on the Johnston Co, NC 1790 Census, a Nathan on 1800 census.] ¤¤¤¤¤¤ State of Georgia Washington County Personally came before me Thomas Pace one of the Justices of the Inferior Court of said County, Baldwin Fluker Esq'r and William Lynum and saith on Oath that Reuben Wilkerson Late of the County aforesaid and wife with two of his Negroes were Massacred by the Indians and all his House &c with all his papers was burnt up at the same time which was about the year Seventeen Hundred and Ninety five or Six (who from general report the said Wilkerson bore the Commission of Cap't in the Revolutionary Service of the United States) and the deponants further saith that Rueben Wilkerson Left two Heirs a Son & Daughter vis't: Nathaniel Green Wilkerson and Lucy Wilkerson now Lucy Hill which are the true & Lawfull Heirs of the said Wilkerson Dec'd. To the Honorable the General Assembly of the State of No. Carolina The Petition of The Heirs of Reuben Wilkerson humbly represents That the said Reuben enlisted in the Continental line of this State during the revolutionary war - and faithfully served his Country in the Capacity of a Lieutenant: in consequence of which services he was entitled to 2560 Acres of Land: That a Military warrant was Obtained in favour of the Said Reuben Wilkerson and drawn by Cap't Hargett (No. 1349) Your Petitioners further represents that the Said Reuben Wilkerson removed to the State of Georgia and in the year 1795 or 1796.
