Headlight, Sept. 25, 1902  
 A telegram reached this city Saturday morning that Mr. George Gurley, a 
former resident of Goldsboro, was killed at Bowden, where he worked for the 
McMullen-Miller Lumber Co., being crushed to death by a train of cars while in 
the dry kiln Friday evening. The Masons took charge of his remains and 
conveyed them to Princeton, where the funeral took place Sunday morning.
