Suicide of Miss May Ivey
(Special to The Messenger)
Raleigh, NC, May 2 - In Johnston county yesterday Miss Mary Ivey committed
suicide. She was on a visit to her brother near Benson. She was missed by the
family and upon search her body was found hanging from a rafter of the house.
She had used a rope. She was the daughter of Bryant Ivey, a prosperous farmer,
and was 41 years old. She had been in the insane asylum and last November she
was discharged as cured.
