Funeral Services for Pauline Martin Johnson Hiner, 90 years old of Greenville, 
South Carolina, who went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will be 
held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Greenlawn Memorial Park and Funeral 
Home, in Columbia, South Carolina at 1:00 PM. Her nephew, Gary Martin gave 
words of comfort at the service. 
Pauline was one of 11 children born on June 12, 1917 to Isaac George and Minnie 
Williford Martin of Bentonville, Johnston County, NC. She married Julius Eugene 
Johnson on Sept 12 1932 in Dillon, SC. Eugene and Pauline has 2 children. Betty 
Florence and Peggy Lee.
Eugene worked as an Independant Grocery Owner and later went to work at McCrory-
McClellan Stores. Eugene passed away on March 25 1974. Pauline later married 
Lloyd Hiner. He was employed with The State of South Carolina. Lloyd passed 
away in 1988.  Pauline worked in retail sales for many years and helped to 
raise her family. 
Pauline would always look forward to going to Bentonville, NC each year and 
seeing all of her family around Thanksgiving. Pauline was also a homemaker and 
traveled quite a bit to see her family who was spread out on the East Coast. 
She was a friend and a family member to many who knew her. A honest, caring and 
giving person who didn't mind lending a hand.
Surviving are her children, Betty of Greenville, South Carolina and Peggy of 
Wilmington, NC. She is survived also by her 4 grandchildren, 3 great 
grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, Many cousins, nephews, neices, 
friends.
