DIED
  At his residence in Johnston County on the 3rd instant T.W. WHITLEY, ESQ. in 
the 42nd year of age. Ah! Death is terrible whenever it comes, but  when in a 
case like this, it takes from a community one of its most beloved and honored 
citizens, its blow is trebly so. No one of our countrymen could have fallen 
whose loss will be more severely felt than that of the deceased. He was a 
consistent member of the Methodist Church and was, in truth, a good man. He 
leaves a wife and seven children, and may God be a "father to the fatherless 
and a husband to the widow" is the sincere wish of
