Gulley Jr. Entry officer of Claims of Lands in the County of Johnston to the surveyor of said County Greeting You are hereby required, as soon as may be, to lay off and survey, for Samuel Lee Jr. a certain piece or parcel of Land in the county aforesaid, containing one hundred Acres on the South Side of Mill Creek and West Side of the great branch Joining Bryan Lynches line Joseph Lanston line and John Fail lines Entred 25th December 1798 Observing the Directions of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided for running out Lands two just and fair Plans of such Survey with a proper Certificate annexed to each, you are to transmit with this Warrant to the Secretary's Office without Delay. Given under my Hand this the 28th Day of May 1799 Robt. Gulley Jr. I do hereby Indorse the within Warrant to James Rose for one hundred Acres of Land in Johnston County for Value Receiv'd as Witness my hand and Seal this 27th day of September 1799 Sam'l Lee Jr. {Seal} Test Sam Lee Senr. No. 241 Surveyd for James Rose by virtue of a warrant of Samuel Lee One hundred Acres of Land in Johnston County on the South Side of Mill Creek on the great Branch Joining Bryant Lynches line his own and John Fails line Begining at a Black Gum in Bryant Lynches and said Langstons line at the mouth of a Branch of the great Branch and runs thence with his own line North Seventy eight Deg's west Fifty three poles to the Corner on a Black oak then with his other line North Nineteen Deg's west one hundred and thirty four poles to the Corner on a pine thence with his other line South Sixty Deg's west twenty three poles to a pine his and John Fails corner thence with said Fails line North Nineteen Deg's East one hundred and eighty Six poles to the Corner on a Black jack thence with his other line South forty three Deg's East one hundred and Sixteen poles to the Corner on a Hickory thence with another of his lines (and past the Corner) South one hundred and eighty poles to a water oak in a pond thence east thirty eight poles to a post oak in Joseph Langstons line thence with said line North one hundred and thirty three poles to the Corner on a stake thence with his other line North Sixty Six deg's "East thirty Seven poles to the Corner on a pin, in Bryant Lynches line thence with said Lynches line North thirty eight deg's west eighty five poles to the Corner on a litwood stump at the side of a branch thence with his other line North Sixty five Deg's Fifty poles to a Maple in the head of a Branch thence Down the meanders of Said Branch to the Begining.
