In the Name of God Amen, I Elisabeth ALLEN of Johnston Countie in North 
Carolina being Now sick and weak and in a very low Condition but of perfect 
Mind and Memori Thanks beto Allmightee for the same And taking into 
Consideration the uncertaintie Of this Mortal Life I do hereby these presents 
make and ordaine this to be my Last Will and Testament in Manner and forme 
As follows, Viz.-
Item-I give and bequeath unto my loving Husband Andrew ALLEN the use of all 
my Slaves During during (sic) his natural Life And after HIs Decease my Will 
and Desire is that all My slaves that is to say LEWCIE JUDITH JAMEY JOSEPH 
PHILISE BARBARY and KELISE (interlined: "with all their futer increase") may 
fall into the hands of my Kinswoman Sarahann ADAIR Daughter of James ADAIR 
And his wife Clerk ADAIR to be enjoyed By her and her heirs forever Sucksenly 
I do byt hese presents constitute make and Ordain James and Clark ADAIR my 
true and Lawfull Execr. and Exetress revoaking all Other Will or Wills 
heretofore made by And in Confirmation hereof I have hereunto Set my hand and 
fixd my Seal this Nineteen Day of Septem'r MDCCLI.

Ordered that Mr. SEcretary have notice hereof That Letters Teestamentary may 
issue Accordingly.

{Note: The records of Northumberland County, Virginia; show that Elizabeth ALLEN 
and Clark ADAIR were two of the daughters of Capt. Thomas and Clark HOBSON, of 
that county. The records of Bladen and Robeson Counties, North Carolina, show 
that after the death of his wife, James ADAIR moved to the vicinity of what is 
now Ashpole Church in Robeson County. Elizabeth ALLEN'S will is the link between 
the Virginia and North Carolina records.}
