I give to my beloved son David Coates a certain tract of land in Sampson County containing two hundred and ninety acres deeded to me by Sythey Jackson. I give to my daughter Polley Ann Rayner five dollars in cash. My lot of land in Chatham County at Merry Oak Depot containing one acre and three quarters I desire to be sold by my executor and pay all of my just debts the remainder if any I desire to remain in my exectuors hands. I desire the timber I own in Chatham County upon the land of Robert Brown to make four hundred cross ties to be sold also by my executor to pay my debts and the balance if any to remain in the hands of my executor to do as it desires also my present crops and hogs I give to my beloved wife Edney Coates. I make my beloved wife Edney Coates my executor. Witnesses: Elam Godwin and John S.
