Colbert clycolbert@aol.com Deloach, Samuel will, 1805, Johnston Co, In the name of God Amen, I Samuel Deloach of the County of Johnston and State of North Carolina being very sick but of sound mind and memory...I lend to my beloved wife, Jarusha during her natural life six Negroes, viz Tony, Bob, Jude, Easter, Lewis and Ned, also a sorrel mare called Fancy, two feather beds and furniture and all my kitchen furniture, two cows and calves; to my son, Joseph I give 25 pounds; to my son, John five shillings; to my daughter Treacy Spicer during her natural life two negroes, David and Hasty which Negroes after her death and the death of her husband I give to be equally divided between the heirs of my son, Jesse and daughter Polly Ingram; I give to my son, Jesse all the property I have heretofore put in his possession; to my son, Samuel after the death of my wife, one Negro woman and child, viz Jude and Ned, also one gray horse, two cows and calves; to my son, Solomon after the death of my wife, two Negroes Bob and Lewis, also a bay filly called Pigeon; to my daughter Polly Ingram, two Negroes Hannah and Diner and one cow and calve; to my two grandsons, Sandy (Landy?) And William, fifty dollars each; all the residue of my property to be divided equally among all my children; appoint my son Solomon and Osborn Hunter my executors, signed Samuel Deloach, wit. Obed.
